Angels Cry by Tina Glasneck

Rating: 4/5

The city is plagued by a heroin epidemic. Women are disappearing without a trace. Undercover cop, Peter Lazarus is tasked to find the evidence to cripple the dangerous syndicate behind it. He’s on the verge of success, when his two worlds collide and threatens the entire mission.

Mix suspense with tragedy, add a dash of romance and pour it all in a spooky environment and by spooky I mean something along the lines of body brokering, human trafficking, physical and emotional abuse, drugs, crimes, etc.

Peter Lazarus, an undercover cop going by the name of Shane sterns is putting himself in serious danger as he tries to investigate and uncover a brotherhood’s twisted scheme. Are they just moving heroin? Or is it something a lot more sinister? How far one could go to get answers? And is getting the job done more important than protecting your own family? Can a person slowly become what he pretends to be?

“I know, but remember, you are imagining, pretending to be a part of that world. Don’t become it. You have to not become that, or they’ve won something that we can never replace.”

This book will manage to break your heart while getting you to swiftly turn the pages in the hope of getting some answers. The story is so elegantly-presented and the characters are all quite interesting. It is also a light-and-fast-paced-read that once you start reading, I doubt you’d want to put down, so if you’re up for the challenge, you should definitely get your hands on a copy of “Angels Cry”. You won’t regret it, I promise!

“I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This in no way affected my opinion of the book or the content of my review.”
